PRESS:

“Splendid mapping of the 80's underground. Darkwave, IDM, krautrock, Vlimmer is not short of stylistic richness. You can hardly capture the glittering darkness of the eighties more authentically. Surprisingly catchy synth pop with post-punk flair” – Lie in the Sound (GER)

„Unsurpassed“ Vlimmer still knows how to surprise and enchant” – Subjectivisten (NED)

“Vlimmer's most accessible album. After the first listen this is already downright pop, but it's constantly ruptured. As usual, it does not resemble its predecessors, but sets other priorities and references, conquering new frontiers. Familiar, yet new again. Convincing." – prettyinnoise.de (GER)

“We are not facing another Vlimmer publication, we are facing a release that comes to renew everything.” – Propuesta cultural (MEX)

"A spell, a parable, and something that captivates to keep lost dreams - it changes the soul forever." – Underdog Fanzine (GER)

“Vlimmer is continuing to renew himself within his own wide stylistic conception. He keeps the bar high, putting his own vivid talent at the service of the most sincere inspiration and continuing to bestow his own little sound pearls to that audience that has been able to recognize the uniqueness of the project." – Dark Room Magazine (ITA)

“Like a voice lost in the mist, trying to locate a way to escape a deep astral plane. The buzzing drone of vocals falls into a dazzling instrumental pulse that is hypnotic and eerie.” – New Noise Magazine (USA)

"Vlimmer seems to be able to do everything and picks out the most appealing from every style for his creations.” – Artnoir - Musik Magazin (CH)

“Direct, emotional and atmospheric, modern, but nostalgic. Vlimmer fuses genres with similar intentions, with an introspective and personal approach." – LOUD.cl (CHL)

“A particularly creative storm […], faded glamour and impending beautified collapse” – The Sunday Experience (USA)

“It’s exactly what you need when you are looking for tight, night-time and definitive post-punk.” Shoegaze Blog (ITA)

“Songs covered with an intriguing and delicious cloak of darkness and claustrophobia.” Revista the 13th (ARG)

“Perfect for cold days, endless nights and, yes, moments of depression.” – The Blog That Celebrates Itself (BRA)

“Vlimmer confirms that he still has many arrows to his bow.” – Ver Sacrum (ITA)

“Dark post-punk that really shows off the growth made by the musician in the last few years” – Norman Records (UK)

“Smashing, amazing, Vlimmer has been getting brighter on each release. It is a real treat." Potter's Field Music Mix Tape (USA)

“Atypical underground-pop music with a dark flavour. Versatile.” – Side-Line Reviews (BEL)

PRESS RELEASE:

English
Vlimmer has gone a long way since the first release of his 18-EP series which started in November 2015. Besides the ever remaining atmospherical character of the music which is loosely based in the post-punk, shoegaze, kraut and darkwave genres, change has always been the constant.
Never has Vlimmer opened an EP in a catchier way than on “X”: “Nachwehen” sounds like a fucked-up Robert Smith who’s backed by the sound of rattling bones, “Nebelgeist” is a straight 4-to-the-floor gazer which even consists of some kind of rapping in the centre of the song.
At the heart of the EP Vlimmer places the 10-minute “Kondens” which deals with the ever appearing face of someone who’s unreachable, it’s a fast and restless krautrocker with layers of synth and guitar, turning into an ear shattering fuzz climax that offers three minutes of violins and space synth afterwards to calm the listeners down.
Lyric-wise it’s going south even more with the exhausted “Stufenlethargie” which states that everything appears simple once it’s destructed. “X” closes with the paranoia of “Thrombo”, wobbling walls of sound and a warm kick drum while Vlimmer’s voice floats upon everything trying to escape from a hostile city and thousands of pairs of eyes which are staring down on him in the early morning hours. “Can you see into my head?,” and “Do you know where I’m heading?” Vlimmer does not.

Deutsch:
